31st Guangzhou Garden Expo Children’s Park Sub-venue: Nature Art Season · “The Dancing Toy House” Part 1:“Plant Playground” Part 1—A compilation of exhibitions and workshops.
The first installation, the Fruit and Vegetable Playground, features scallions and celery—essential ingredients for Guangzhou residents during the Lunar New Year—to wish children wisdom and diligence. This is an exhibition centered on the theme of “Growth and Sprouting,” taking place both in person and via live online streaming. Centered on showcasing the process of fruits and vegetables taking root and sprouting, the event features “soil-focused” sandwich composting, as well as workshops where kitchen scraps and uneaten produce are transformed into bonsai. This initiative represents a cross-disciplinary collaboration among multiple artists. Initiated by architect Mi Xiao, the project gradually drew in Yang Meijuan—an expert in rooftop gardening—the material creation team “No.1 House of Finnish Pine,” tech-art artist Huang Xiaojie, and the “Book and Fun” collective.
